Friendship-A beautiful bond of hearts

Hello Friends!!

'Friendship' one of the most commonly used words in life and it adds so much meaning to our otherwise mundane lives. I am sure that we are all very familiar with this form of relationship and so this month over at Happy Little Stampers we are celebrating 'Friendship' and this project here is a gift box that I made for a friend who has always stood by me.

This was a very simple project where I used crackle, decoupage, peeled paint and stamping technique to complete the box.

I started with an MDF box and used very thin layer of crackle medium and once that was dry I added a layer of chalk paint. Once this paint was dry and the cracks appeared, decoupage was the next step that covered the entire cracked surface and thus there is only a hint of cracks once you look up close.

Next came the peeled paint step on the bottom part of the box for which I used a layer of cream chalk paint and while it dried I used vaseline in some areas (Vaseline here acts as the mask that protects the layer of paint underneath and once wiped will reveal the underlying colour) and applied teal colours as the second layer of colour and then wiped the surface with a rag cloth.

Added some script stamping with black archival ink to add a sense of texture without really adding any bulk as I prefer to keep the look very simple and easy to clean.

Finally added a simple quote on friends and 1 balsam wood die-cut piece 'Friendship' to the front panel near the closure to add some interest. This piece of balsom die-cut was coloured with markers to make out similar to the background so that its effect is quite subtle.

I hope you enjoyed the project. looking forward to all the entries this month at Happy Little Stampers.
The supplies are listed here along with places where you may buy them online.
