Desk-top calendar 2018

Hello Friends,

Wishing all my readers a very happy and prosperous New Year 2018. The year that went by was a wonderful year and I hope that this year brings everyone joy, health and success. Now that a new year has started we will all be using new Calendars and new diaries/ planners so here I want to share this cute desk-top calendar cum post-it holder that you can make for yourself or for your friends.

The idea is based on a simple easel card concept with a slight difference. So to begin we need 3 circular pieces of cardstock in colour of your choice. Next I printed out a free printable calendar 2018 from here which I printed out on a pattern paper. Make sure that the design of the pattern paper is subtle as otherwise the print will not show.

Once the print is ready you need to cut it out to equal size; here I used a stiched circular die to make the little circles for each month but in case you do not have a die cutting machine or die, you can use bangle or any circle stencil or bowl to trace a circle around each month and cut it out.

Put the months in order keeping the first month on top then apply little glue on the top edge of the bundle so that they adhere to each other slightly and can be pulled apart easily.

Now that all the preparation is done its time to assemble everything together. Take one of the cardstock circle and score it down the middle and fold. Take another piece of 1x1 1/2 inch card stck piece and score it at 1/2" and 1". Fold on the score lines. Now take another of the cardstock circles and the scored circle pieces and align them. Now add the folded pieces of cardstock and add glue to the side flaps leaving out the centre part. Adhere this piece between the aligned circles such that it does not show from the outside.

Finally on the last piece of cardstock circle adhere a circular piece of pattern paper cut 1/4" smaller than the cardstock base and layer it. Finally add the calendar piece in the centre of this piece.

On the assembled base add glue to the lower part of the scored circle piece and adhere the top piece with the calendar. Add the post-it notepad on the inside and the basic easel calendar is ready. To make it more pretty add some embellishments of your choice...

I hope that you will enjoy this project as much as i have enjoyed sharing it with you all.

Before we say adieu I would like to wish you all A very Happy and Prosperous New Year. Hope this year brings all your wishes come true.

Hugs
Seemaa...
