Most popular art and craft materials suppliers and manufacturers in India!

Hello Crafters,

Crafting has been a very integral part of Indian culture through ages, though the trends in crafting keep changing. Most of us have grown up seeing someone in our family (mostly ladies ;-)) doing either stitching, embroidery or knitting or crocheting. Art has also been popular in various form like nib painting, alimunium painting etc. As have the demands of the markets changed so have the supplies available. When I started my crafting journey about 4years back finding pattern paper was challenge in the markets of Mumbai!!! of there a few shops that sold them but they were pretty pricey. I bought my first few stamps and tools on amazon the shipping cost totaled  to the cost of the supplies.
Now however the scenarios have changed and even the most popular Indian manufacturers have embraced the change and expanded their product lines. Here is a list of Most popular Indian Manufacturers and suppliers.  If you are an ardent crafter or artist this list might help you for most of your supplies.

I am not rating any company here and this list is an effort compile a list for reference of crafter and artist and everyone else who might wanna use it. I will start with the most commonly known names in India for art and craft supplies and they manufacture in India... then move on to suppliers where you will find imported stuff too.

There Hobby Ideas stores across many cities where you can shop and learn and do activities too. Other than the Hobby Idea stores most of their products are available at most stationaries especially paints etc..
They have very active social media presence on Facebook where the crafter/ artist may share their work and also ask questions. links below:

MUDRA CRAFT STAMPS: This is not really an online shop for crafters but i could not end this article without mentioning this company as this is another company to look forward to for stamps that are more suitable to the Indian culture as these stamps are designed and manufactured in India and are at par with international stamps in terms of quality. This company is also giving a lot of crafters an opportunity to design products and making it easier for indian crafters to make projects that cover out festivals etc. The Mudra stamps are available at most online with stores like Lulupu, craftadda, amazon etc. they also accept orders through mail and blog.

JAI AMBE: I would also like to mention a local (MUMBAI)store where you can buy most supplies at wholesale prices. They stock quilling, scrapbooking, decoupage and mixmedia supplies and also huge range of stationery and accessories. They also have loads of tools available.

This list is not by any means exhaustive but an effort to compile a go to list for crafters to reference. So if you have any favourite store that are not listed here please let me know in the comments and will be adding them in as I update this. Most stores listed here are importing goods and I would like to see more and more manufacturing companies also growing. There are many more suppliers

In the last 5 years there has been an exponential growth and availability of craft supplies in India and thanks to all these companies the crafting community is growing. the culture of crafting has been reborn and more and more people are getting involved in creating, buying selling crafts.
